The Philadelphia Holocaust Remembrance Foundation is an organization that will honor the survivors of the Holocaust and pay tribute to those who perished under Nazi tyranny. As the number of Holocaust survivors decreases, it has become apparent that in the next 10 years, children will not have the opportunity to hear the survivors’ stories first hand. The Foundation hopes to create a landmark and educational program to preserve the survivors’ stories forever, to carry the torch of remembrance, and instill the understanding of our collective responsibility to past and future generations. Now is the time to develop a more prominent and distinguished setting for this historic monument, and educate children of all ages about tolerance and the other lessons of the Holocaust.
The Philadelphia Holocaust Remembrance Foundation in collaboration with survivors, their families, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, and the Fairmount Park Commission, is working to enhance the site surrounding the memorial. Our goal is to create Holocaust education centr and work with the many local Holocaust educational groups and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum to establish establish dynamic and inspirational Holocaust education programs.
