Mordechai Anielewicz Creative Arts Competition and Exhibition

The Mordechai Anielewicz Creative Arts Competition is an annual event designed to encourage all Philadelphia-area middle school and high school students to learn about and reflect upon the history of the Holocaust. It offers Philadelphia area high school students a creative forum and opportunity to view the Holocaust through a broad perspective and respond through the arts. Recognizing the ability of teenagers to understand and address the issues of prejudice, racism, genocide and human rights raised by the Holocaust that still trouble our world, the contest invites students to submit creative work which reflects Holocaust themes and lessons. Essays, poems, short works of fiction, two- and three-dimensional as well as multimedia works of art, original songs, musical compositions and dance are submitted each March. Contestants and their work are honored during an award ceremony and exhibition held at Moore College of Art and Design in June.
