The Annual Youth Symposium on the Holocaust
For 33 years, JCRC and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia have collaborated to present the Youth Symposium on the Holocaust, a widely acclaimed education program for students in public, parochial and private high schools throughout the Delaware Valley. The Youth Symposium is designed to teach young people about the universal lessons of the Holocaust, including the destructive nature of prejudice and the need for courage in the face of injustice and tyranny. The program offered on 4 different days includes discussions with Holocaust survivors and educational workshops for teachers. Background information on the Holocaust is distributed to the approximately 1000 students and teachers who attend each year with the hope that the lessons of the Holocaust will encourage students to have a greater understanding and acceptance of others.
