Sons and Daughters of Holocaust Survivors
We are an organization of men and women now living in the Philadelphia area whose parents / grandparents survived the Holocaust. Established in 1978 we were the first organization of children of Survivors in Philadelphia. We are moving into the future by sharing our parents' / grandparents' personal narratives to keep the memory of the Holocaust alive.
Mission- To be leaders in focusing public attention on lessons of the Holocaust
- To enrich our understanding of the Holocaust, of our parents' / grandparents' experiences and of our own responsibilities to Jewish survival
- To provide a kinship / friendship network to replace those we lost in the Holocaust
- To share social and cultural events together
- Participated in planning the Philadelphia city-wide memorial service for the Six Million
- Participated in planning the American Gathering of Survivors that was held in Philadelphia in 1985
- Established and participated in experiential groups to explore our feelings as children of survivors
- Contributed to an oral history program which will perpetuate the personal narratives Survivors of the Holocaust
- Planned and presented educational programs on the Holocaust for Philadelphia area group, classes and organizations
- Produced a Holocaust film series as part of the Israel 50 program
- Sponsored a variety of educational and social programs for our members and their families Our Plans:

- To engage in activities designed to preserve the memory of those who perished
- To represent and advance the shared views and interests of sons, daughters and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors in the Philadelphia area and nationally
- To have events where we can get to know and enjoy each other
- To develop mixed media presentations on our parents' / grandparents' Holocaust experiences and form a speaker's bureau to share their stories
